Michael Silbert received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee in 1981 and his license to practice architecture in Colorado in 1986 after working for a Boulder firm for the previous four years. He started his Sole Proprietorship that year working from an office in his home. Michael Silbert, Architect is located in the Boulder foothills at 56 Antler Drive. He is a “Green Advantage” certified residential environmental practitioner and a member of the “Colorado Green Building Guild”.
As a Boulder architect, Michael has experience in commercial projects and multi-family but has mostly focused on single family, new homes and renovations lately. He has designed on mountain lots and plains lots and his portfolio spans numerous styles. Most of his work has been along the Front Range from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins and in the Vail Valley.
As a Sole Proprietor, Michael carries the full responsibility for the designs through all of the design phases: schematic, preliminary, design development, and construction documents. All phases of the design are also hand drawn which adds a personal touch and leads to a more intimate knowledge of every detail of the structure. Speaking of structure, Michael typically draws all of the structural plans as well, coordinating with the structural engineer, in order to maintain better quality control. General contractors really appreciate this extra attention paid to the drawings, the deep understanding of how the building is to be constructed and how this is conveyed on the drawings. This also allows Michael to keep a keen eye on the budget, which is of utmost importance on most every project.
The best way to understand Michael’s approach to the design process is to read up on his Design Philosophy and then take a peek at the many testimonials he has received from satisfied clients.
There’s a reason his business has been built and sustained by client referrals. Excellent service and attention to detail are an integral part of Michael’s brilliant designs.
